Characteristics of Moka Coffee
-
Moka Coffee is suitable for drip brewing and machine brewing.
-
The coffee beans have a smooth, more aesthetically pleasing shape compared to many other types of coffee.
-
Moka Arabica coffee beans have a mildly bitter taste, mildly acidic, a bit fatty, and a sweet aftertaste at the tip of the tongue.
-
Moka Coffee (after brewing) has a rich aroma that persists throughout the drinking experience.
-
The caffeine content in Moka beans > 1.0%.
A cup of 100% pure Moka coffee will carry a mild bitterness, mingled with a bit of mild acidity and the fat of the oil inside the coffee beans. When drunk, the bitterness spreads in the mouth and down the throat, but only a few seconds later, the rich aroma and sweet taste appear.
In traditional coffee making, Vietnam often uses a filter (phin) to brew coffee. Therefore, we will show you how to make delicious coffee with a coffee filter below.
DIRECTIONS FOR MAKING FILTER COFFEE
Step 1: Rinse the coffee filter (phin) with hot water.
Step 2: Add 20 to 25g of ground coffee to the filter (depending on whether you like it strong or mild), press the filter lid gently.
Step 3: Place the filter over a cup and pour 20ml of boiling water under the lid and 20 ml across the surface of the coffee to steep.
Step 4: After 2 – 3 minutes, when the coffee grounds have soaked up the water evenly and have expanded, continue to pour 50 – 60ml of boiling water, cover with the lid and wait for the coffee to drip into the cup.
Step 6: You will end up with about 30 – 40ml of coffee. You can add condensed milk or sugar, ice, stir well and enjoy.
